The World Series of Team Roping runs concurrently with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and provides an opportunity for amateur ropers to win large cash prizes. Each division awards upwards of $1 million. The series finale is a four head average with three full go-rounds, and a short round. The top 10% of teams in each of the rotations advance to the short round. In addition to those 40 teams, the fastest four teams who miss the cut also advance. Every team who makes the short round is guaranteed a check. The short round determines which check each team receives. The event is the largest team roping event and the third richest horse-related event in the world.
